Paragraph Text

To add “paragraph” text to your document, you must have a paragraph, or rather a form. In paragraph text, the edges of these form are used to determine the placement of characters.

So the first thing you do when you want to enter “paragraph” text, is to draw a shape.
For example with the “Rectangle” tool. The color of this shape does not matter as it will disappear anyway.
So select the “Rectangle” tool (1) and then click and drag in the document to the size you want to put in your text (2).
Then select the “area type text” tool (3) and move the mouse pointer over the edge of the shape drawn (4), in this case the rectangle, and click.
Then type your text. When it reaches the edge of the path, it will automatically move to a new line.
If you want to start a new paragraph, you press the Enter key on your keyboard.

To format the text field, you just use the same method as the point text.

If you enter more text than that can be displayed within the area, a box containing a plus sign (+) appears at the bottom right (1) of the text area.
Click this icon with the “Direct Selection” tool .
Move your cursor (which has now been changed) (2) to the position where you want the second box and click.
This places a second text field with the same dimensions as the first, at the place where you clicked. If there is more text, then you can repeat this process for the third level, fourth level and so on.
Once you have clicked, it displays a line between the two text boxes (3). This will obviously not be printed, but if you wish to hide it on your screen too, click the hotkey Ctrl Shift Y on your keyboard.

If you want a different size box for the following text boxes, then click and drag in your document instead of just clicking.

If you later wish to modify the size of a text box, then select the text box and click and drag with the blocks on the edge of the box (4).
Of course, the text will automatically get updated in the various text boxes.

Tip!
If you want to place another text box in another drawing area, hold the spacebar on your keyboard pressed while you click and drag to the next text field.

Awesome!
