78/87 Lessons

Inserting a picture

To insert an image into “Excel”, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon”.

Select the cell where you want to insert the image, and click the “Image” button.

The “Insert Image” dialog opens. Navigate to the photo you want to insert, and double-click the photo.

This puts the picture in the cell, which you had already selected in the “Worksheet”.

In the “Layout” tab in the Ribbon, there is an extra “Picture Tools” tab. The possibilities here are plenty and it is impossible to discuss all of them. So I suggest you try some of them as they are really very nice.

Please note that the image in your “Worksheet” must be selected to see the “Picture Tools” tab.

Inserting ” Shapes”

To insert a “Shape” in “Excel”, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon”.

Click the “Shapes” button.

This opens a drop-down menu listing various “Shapes” which are divided into eight different groups. Also at the top of the group we see the most recently used “Shapes”.

Choose a “Shape” and click and drag the mouse pointer on the “Worksheet” (1), until you get the right size for the “Shape”.

We see the “Drawing Tools” tab opened in the “Ribbon”.

The possibilities here are plenty, and it is impossible to discuss them all.

Insertion of “Clipart “

To insert a “Clipart” into “Excel”, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon”.

Click the “Clipart” button which will open the “Clip Art” task pane. In the top textbox, we can search on a particular keyword. In the second box, we select the folder where “Excel” should search. And in the third section we enter which file type we want to search.

At the bottom we find the link “Organize clips …”, where we can also select, copy and paste clips. “Include Office.com content” searches the Microsoft site for relevant clips. And finally we have the “Hints for finding images” link, if you are really desperate to find something.

Insert “WordArt”

“WordArt” allows us to insert a word or phrase into a graphics file. To insert “WordArt” in “Excel”, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon” and click the “WordArt” button. When we clicke this button, we see the “WordArt” gallery showing different styles.

Choose a style by clicking it. This shows a text box with the selected style in our “Worksheet”

Type your text here. With the help of the “Layout” tab in the “Ribbon”, we can format the “text”. There are really many fun things here so try them.

Awesome!
