62/66 Lessons

Inserting a bookmark:

Bookmarks can be used in our document, to highlight an issue, at a location, that is to be addressed later, or to navigate in our document.
For instance
You have to insert a chart into a document, but you first want to finish entering text for this document.
To do this, you need to place the cursor at the location in your document where the chart is to be inserted, later.
Select the “Insert” tab on ribbon, and click the “Bookmark” button.
This opens the “Bookmark” dialog box.
In the first text box you can give the bookmark a name and, click the “Add” button.
This closes the dialog box.

Using Bookmarks:

To use the bookmark which you have already created, click the “Bookmark” button in the ribbon, again.
The “Bookmark” dialog box appears, containing all your bookmarks that have been created.
Select the bookmark you want to navigate to and, click the “Go To” button in the dialog box.

A second way to navigate to a bookmark, is to use the “Go to” option in the ribbon.
This option is found when you click the “Find” button, in the “Home” tab.
So you can click the “Find” button, and select “Go to …” from the drop-down menu.
This opens the “Search and Replace” dialog box, in which the “Go To” tab is selected.

Select “Bookmark” in the menu on the left, and all the bookmarks that are used are displayed, when we click the arrow pointing downwards next to the “Bookmark Name” text box.
Select the bookmark and click the “Go To” button.
This brings you to the bookmark in your document.
The dialog box remains open, so you can still navigate to another bookmark.
Click the “Close” button, when you want to close the dialog box.

Displaying Bookmarks:

By default, bookmarks are displayed in our document.
Yet we have the option of displaying it.
