To an “Excel” file

You have the option of exporting a “Table”, a select “Query” or crosstab “Query” to an “Excel” file.

To do this, select the object in the “Navigation pane” and click the “Export to Excel worksheet” button under the “External Data” tab in the “Ribbon”.

This opens the “Export” dialog.

In the first box, you determine where you want to save the file.
Click the “Browse” button and navigate in the window to the location on your computer where you want to save the file.
In the second box, you determine the file format in which you want to save the file, by default this is set to an “Excel” 2007 file (.xlsx), but you can change it to an earlier version of “Excel” by clicking the downward pointing arrow button.

You can choose the data layout and format to export.
You do not have to select the first option, but when you do, the second option is available.

The third option is available only when the object is opened and when records are selected in this object.

Click the OK button when you’re done.

In the next window that appears, you have the option to save the export steps for later use.
Click the “Close” button.
The object that you had selected in the “Navigation pane” is now saved as an “Excel” file.
