Downloading the App via your computer

Open iTunes and go to the iTunes store. Click “App Store” on the top bar.

When the App Store opens, click on the tab “iPad” (1). The easiest way to search for an app is to add the App name in the “Search Store” (2) location in the top right corner. In case you are looking for something new, you can browse the home page (first page) of the App Store or look at the Top Adds on the right where you will find the “Top Charts”

• Top Paid Apps: Apps for which you need to pay
• Top Free Apps: Apps which you can download for free
• Top Grossing Apps: Apps which are top in earning revenues

You can scroll all three lists. To see the whole list, for example of all top paid apps, click on “TOP PAID APPS”. The same goes for the other two lists as well.

As an example, I am going to download the App “Bad Piggies HD Free”. When I type in the name of the App in the search window, the following screen appears.

When you want to download the App, press on the “Free” button (or on the price if you are downloading a paid App). The download will start. In case you haven’t logged in with your Apple ID, you will be asked to log in. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you will be asked to sign up and register for an Apple ID. Just follow the instructions. When you download an App for your iPad then make sure you select the App listed under the iPad Apps. When you click on the App a screen will pop up providing a more detailed explanation of the App (see below).

Next, click on “Free” and the App will start downloading.

When the download completes, the App will be located in your iTunes library and you will need to synchronize your iTunes library with your iPad. This you do through a cable which comes with your iPad as shown in below image.

When the computer and iPad are connected, you can synchronize the iPad with your iTunes library stored on your computer. See below screen.

Once you finish the synchronization, the new App will be transferred to your iPad
