Pack and Go

With the “Pack and Go” option, we have the opportunity of making our publication, with all our photos, ready for a commercial printer, or so that they can be copied to another computer.
Just click on the “File” tab in the “Menu bar”, select “Pack and Go”, and select one of the two options.
This opens the “Pack and Go Wizard”:

Click on the “Next” button in the first window of the “Wizard”.
In the second window of the Wizard you decide where you want it saved.
Usually, this is either a CD or a USB stick.

Click “Next”.
In the third dialog box, you decide what you want to record, or rather take with you to the professional printer.
For example, it is wise to take the font if it is not present on the destination computer.
The images are also useful when you have used them in any other application.
If you don’t want to include the images which are in the publication itself, select the last option, because this establishes a link to the picture.

Click “Next”.
In the fourth window is displayed where you are and what data you are going to save.
Click the “Finish” button.

And finally you have a window that says that everything was done correctly.
Now you can export this entire file to the printer.
I’ll give you two tips:

  1. First have a consultation with your printer to find out how he wants the publication. It could be that he doesn’t even want to use a Publisher file, and would prefer a pdf file.
  2. A commercial printer, prints data right up till the edge of a sheet. This is, most likely, something that your printer will not be able to do.
So you can work with your color boxes so that the edge of the printed page will look, bigger than the publication.

Awesome!
