Website Options / Web Options

We also have, in the “Web tools toolbar”, the “Website Options” and “Web page Options” buttons.

First, let me start with the “Web Page Options” button.
When we click on it, it opens the “Web Page Options” dialog box.
In the first text box, you can enter a title for the page.
The check box “Add Hyperlink …” is checked by default. This is required when we add pages to our site and also, when links are added to the start page, as is the case.

In the next textbox you have the option of specifying a name for the page.
The two boxes below that are for Search Engines like Google.
In the first box you give a description of the page, and in the second box you can specify a number of keywords which are to be found in Search Engines.

The box at the bottom is used if you want to add background music to your page. A tip from the master, do not do this, as this is very annoying for anyone who visits your site.

We then have the “Website Options” at the bottom of the dialog.

When you click on it, the “Options” dialog box opens.
This same dialog is opened when we click on the “Website Options” button in the “Web tools toolbar”.

Some of the options in this dialog are important when we start publishing our site.
The first check box is “Organize Supporting files in a folder.” When this is checked, all files, including photos and pages, which you used in your site, are stored, neatly, in a folder.
When the second check box is selected, only the changed pages will be uploaded to the Internet.

If you select the third check box, photos with extension PNG will be accepted in your pages. Please note, older versions of browsers cannot read this file type, and therefore nothing will appear.

The “Encoding” box is still be “Western European”, if you want a different encoding, you can click on the downward pointing arrow.

And finally we have the e-mail options. This can be used if you want to send the entire website as an image.

Click OK when you’re done.

Background Color

Finally, you can also change the background of your site.
Click on “Background” in the “Web tools toolbar”.
This opens the “Background” panel.

In this panel, we find a number of colors, and a number of patterns.
Click the downward-pointing arrow that appears when you move the mouse pointer over a color or pattern. And select one of the two options from the drop-down menu.

If you have a photo on your page and you want to make the background transparent so that you can see it against the background of your page, select it, and when the “Picture toolbar” appears, click on the “Set Transparent Color” button.
Move your mouse over the color in your photo, which is to be made transparent and click.

If you want certain objects in your page also to be transparent, select them, right-click and select “Format AutoShape”.
In the dialog-box that appears, select “No Fill”.

Awesome!
