To open a new “OneNote” window. Ctrl + M
To open a small “OneNote” window to create a side note Ctrl + Shift + M
To dock the “OneNote” window. Ctrl + Alt + D
To undo the previous action. Ctrl + Z
To undo the previous action again. Ctrl + Y
To select all items on the current page. Note: When you press Ctrl + A repeatedly, the range of selection is extended. Ctrl + A
To cut the selected text or item . Ctrl + X
To copy the selected item or text to the Clipboard. Ctrl + C
To paste the contents to the Clipboard. Ctrl + V
To go to the beginning of a line. Home
To go to the end of a line. End
To move left by a single character. <-
To move right by a single character. ->
To move left by a single word. Ctrl +<-
To move right by a single word. Ctrl +->
To delete a character which is to the left of the cursor. Backspace
To delete a character which is to the right of the cursor. Del
To delete a word which is to the left of the cursor. Ctrl + Backspace
To delete a word which is to the right of the cursor.. Ctrl + Del
To go to the next line without starting a new paragraph. SHIFT + ENTER
To check the spelling of a word. F7
To open the thesaurus for the selected word . Shift + F7
To open the context menu for an object. For example, a note or a tab. Shift + F10
To perform the action that the information bar suggests, if the top of the page is displayed. Ctrl + Shift + W
Formatting Notes
To highlight the selected text in yellow. Ctrl + Shift + H

To insert a hyperlink. Ctrl + K

The “OneNote” icon must be active in the notification area (i.e to the right-hand corner of the “Taskbar”).
Insert the current date Alt + Shift + D
Insert the current date and time Alt + Shift + F

Insert a line break SHIFT + ENTER
To convert the selected text into a mathematical equation. Alt + =
To add a second column to a table which contains the text that has already been typed. Tab
Adding an extra row of a table from the end of cell ENTER
Note: Press ENTER a second time to indicate that you have finished creating the table.
To insert a row below the current row in a table CTRL + ENTER
To insert an additional paragraph within the same cell in a table. ALT + ENTER
To insert a column on the right side of the current column in a table. Ctrl + Alt + R
To insert a column on the left side of the current column in a table. Ctrl + Alt + E
To insert a row above the current row in a table (when the cursor is at the beginning of the row ). ENTER
To delete the current empty row in a table (when the cursor is at the beginning of the row). 2 X Del key
