Lesson 58: “Save as”

58/59 Lessons

Video

In “PowerPoint” 2010, we have the option of making our presentation, into a video.

Open the “Backstage” view, choose the “Save and Send” tab and click the “Video” option.

On the right side of the “Video” window, we have 3 options.
In the first option (A) , we determine the size of the video. The larger you set the display of the video, the greater will be the size of the video. So if your video is intended for the Internet, you should not select the “Computer & HD Displays” option. This would make the file too large in MB, I mean.

In the second option, (B) determine whether you want the timings and narration to be included in the video. This too will effect the size (in MB) of the video.  Under this option, you also have the opportunity to record timings and narration with a laser pointer for your presentation.  If you choose the first, the show will be played in the top left corner with a time indicator. For each slide that appears, a specified time is shown on the slide in the video. By clicking with the mouse, we go to the next slide. For this, you determine the time for each slide.  The same is also valid for the “Narration”, you now only record the text per slide.

With the last option,(C) give how many seconds you want each slide to appear.

Click the “Create Video” button when you’re done.

In the dialog box that appears, navigate to where you want to store the video, give it a name and click the “Save” button.

“PowerPoint” presentation

If you want to share the “PowerPoint” presentation with others and you do not know whether the viewer has “PowerPoint” program installed on their computer or not, you can still show this as a saved “PowerPoint” presentation .

Open the “Backstage” view, choose “Save As …” and click the downward pointing arrow next to “Save As Type”.
Then select “PowerPoint” presentation (*. pptx) in the list, and click the” Save “button.

The file is saved with the extension .pptx
