If we have the name and address of the recipient who will receive our letter, we select the “Envelopes” button in the ribbon and, it will be automatically entered in the “Delivery Address” text box. If this is not the case, you can simply enter it.

The sender, in this case, therefore, is me, and it is also filled out automatically.
I know that you are thinking, how does Word know who the sender is?
Well, it does not know this.
But you can specify this.
Navigate to the backstage view, and click the “Options” button.
Select the “Advanced” tab and, at the bottom, in the “Mailing Address” text box, enter the name and address of the sender.

The address of the sender is already printed on your envelopes, so you can select the “Omit” check box in the “Envelopes and Labels” dialog box.
When this is checked, you can see in the preview section that it is omitted.

To print the envelope, click the “Print” button.

Options:

When we print envelopes, we have some options which we can set.
Just click the “Options” button in the “Envelopes and Labels” dialog box.
This opens the “Envelope Options” dialog box:
In this dialog box, we have two tabs:

1. “Envelope Options”:les40_image004_en

  • In the first text box, you can specify size of the envelope, by clicking on the downward pointing arrow.
  • The font for the addressee and sender can also be set.Clicking on the “Font” button, opens a new dialog box where the font, size, color, and other effects can be selected.
  • For both these options, you can set the position where the text is printed.

2. “Printing Options”:
In the second tab, “Printing options”, we can set the printing options. The print options are based on the printer where the envelope is printed.

In the first section of this tab, select an input method. Word gives you other default options but, you can always change that with another click.
The “Face up” or “Face down” options are also available.
We also have the “Clockwise rotation” option.
You also have the “Feed from” option.
Some of these options are clearly displayed in the preview.
To see how the other options work, you will have to take a print out on a plain sheet of paper, to see the result.
Click the OK button when you’re done.

In the “Envelopes and Labels” dialog box, you can add the envelope to your document.
Click on the “Add to Document” button. This adds the envelope to your document, as the first page.
