Make

In Picase, we have the possibility of combining our photos, videos and music into a film and create a Windows Media File with the Filmmaker.

As an example I created a new album called “Video”, how original, with four photos and a video file.

What you must understand is that when you talk about a movie in Picasa, it is not necessary to have a video, this could be a number of photographs which you have as a slide show, or a combination of videos and photos, for which you may have sound in some places.

In this example I will therefore make a Picasa movie featuring some photos and a video. All are made in the Antwerp zoo by my son, so if you have nothing but to complain, complain to him, not to me. I do not have music, so I am not using it in this example.

To create a Picasa movie from pictures and videos that are all in the same album or folder, first select the folder or album, and click the button “Create Movie Presentation” in the workspace.

To create a Picasa movie from pictures and videos that are located in different folders or albums, first you put them all in the Photo Tray and click the “Movie” button on the right side of the Photo Tray.

Do not panic, if there are certain pictures or video files that you later do not want in your picasa movie, you can always remove them.

Whatever you do, the filmmaker of Picasa opens a window where we find three tabs.

I will discuss all these in the next lesson “Edit Movie”.

Picasa also places an additional slide in front of the movie containing the text for “Video” and the date when it was created.

If you wish to remove a picture or video from your Picasa movie, right click the bottom of the thumbnail, and select “Remove” in the drop-down menu. This also applies to the additional slide added to the front of the Picasa movie.

If the full movie in Picasa is to your liking, which I doubt at this time, click the button “Make Movie”.

Depending on the number of photos, videos and any sound file, it may take a while before the film was made.

When Picasa is done, we get the following screen (1).

Go back to the library, you’ll see that the Picasa video has been added to the folder list (2).

Awesome!
