16/65 Lessons

This is a lesson that shows you how to obtain a 3D effect by making use of a transparent framework.

New show

  • Create a new show titled “Show 13_3D Framework”, by clicking [File]> New Show, changing the title in the popup menu to “Show 13_3D Framework”, and retaining the aspect ratio at 4:3. Click [Create].

Inserting Layers:

  • Go to the “Folder List” to “Show 13_3D framework”, select “Airplane” and drag it to the slide show.
  • Set the slide duration to 10 seconds and the transition time to 0 sec.
  • Place “Standard_Border.png” from Lesson 13 on the slide as an additional layer, select and drag it keeping the [Ctrl] key pressed.

Zooming in the Layers

  • Click the button [Layers], in the menu bar. In the [Layers Settings] slide the zoom to 120% for the layer, “Standard_Border”.

Adding Motion effects:

  • We will fly the plane from left to right while bringing it closer. Select [Effects]> [Motion effects], select the layer “Airplane” and place the aircraft in the left pane in the upper left corner and place the aircraft in the right pane in the lower right corner. Also we set the zoom slider to 120% in the right (ending position) pane.

Keep in mind that the “Airplane” layer should be positioned in such a way that there is no black area so that the cut portion of the frame is not seen.
In the “Motion Speed” section, select “Linear” instead of “Smooth” in the [Pan] drop down menu. We let the aircraft fly at a constant speed.

Saving a Show

  • Saving of the show is done by selecting [File]> Save As. With the explorer, select the appropriate folder. Change the File Name to “Show 13_3D Framework” and click [Save].
