Dragging Photos

  • Select the photo “Ireland” from Lesson 25, and drag it onto the slide list.

Fill frame and zoom

  • Double-click the slide and select [Layers]> [Layer Settings]. For the [Scaling] option select “Fill Frame” and set the [Zoom] at 70%

Placing Texts on layers

  • Select [Captions]> [Caption Settings]. We enter the following text on different layers.
For additional text layers, we click on the [+] icon and then click in the corresponding text box to enter the text.
For layer 1 we enter the title, “Ireland”.
In layer 2, we type “Three reasons to love it.”.
In layer 3 we type “1) Beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the green valleys”.
In layer 4, “2) A fascinating history full of traditions and stories” and in layer 5,  “3) Great food and drink, with the world famous bagpipers”.

Settings for the text layers

  • For each text layer we specify the font, color, size, frame and shadow, etc. The colors are taken from the photo itself.
    Text 1: [Font] = Arial Unicode MS, [Size] = 75, [Color] = dark green, RGB = 75/106/36, [Bold], [Outline] = white, [Alignment] = centered , [Position] = 50 x 25.
    Text 2: [Font] = Georgia, [Size] = 15, [Color] = light green, RGB = 231/255/171, [Bold], [Alignment] = left, [Position] = 15 x 52.
    Text 3: [Font] = Georgia, [Size] = 8, [Color] = white, RGB = 255/255/255, [Bold], [Alignment] = left [Position] = 20 x 65, [Outline] = black.
    Text 4: [Font] = Georgia, [Size] = 8, [Color] = white, RGB = 255/255/255, [Bold], [Alignment] = left [Position] = 20 x 75, [Outline] = black.
    Text 5: [Font] = Georgia, [Size] = 8, [Color] = white, RGB = 255/255/255, [Bold], [Alignment] = left [Position] = 20 x 85 [Outline] = black.

Text with a 3D perspective

  • Now let us consider a new layer which is to be the third text layer. This is given a 3D perspective. Click the [+] icon to add a new layer and move it with the help of the arrows, behind layer 2. Enter “3”. We also use these settings: [Font] = Georgia, [Size] = 195, [Color] = white, RGB = 255/255/255, [Bold], [Alignment] = left, [Position] = 17 x 38, [Opacity ] = 30, [Skew] = -107, [Rotate] = 14, [Character Rotate] = 32.

Positioning Vertical Text

  • On the right we place a vertical text layer, namely “POLDERSE BY COMPUTER CLUB”.
    Use these settings: [Font] = Georgia, [Size] = 5, [Color] = white, RGB = 255/255/255, [Bold], [Alignment] = center, [Position] = 93 x 50, [Rotate] = 90, [Character Rotate] = 270, [Character Spacing] = 225.

Placing a Shadow

  • We now place a shadow for the main title which is “Ireland”. Before you copy the 1st layer, place this copy just below the first layer and then copy and customize it accordingly. The color is black, [Opacity] = 75 and position = 27 x 51.

Title with texture

  • Instead of a color you can also use a texture. Select layer 1 and select [Use Texture on Caption]. Select the radio button, [Image]. Click the [Browse] button and navigate to Lesson 25 and open the picture “Ireland”.
Set the [Scaling] to “Stretch to frame” and the [Zoom] at 50%.

Saving a Show

  • Save this project under the name “Show 25_Ireland”.
Click [File]> [Save As], select the appropriate folder using the explorer, and if necessary change the filename.

Tip: Quick Font Search

To quickly find a font, select the [Font] checkbox so that it is in blue. Type a letter of the alphabet and you can immediately see the first font that starts with that letter.
