Lesson 3: Preferences (Preferences)

3/65 Lessons

As with any application, you can also customize ProShow Producer and select a number of preferences to be used as a standard whenever you open the program to create a new show.
When you click the menu [Edit] you can see “Preferences” at the bottom of the dropdown menu. Click on it and you will find some standard screens. These can be viewed here and we will discuss some of them in greater detail. For most of them we let them remain unchanged and just use the default settings.

Appearance (Occurrence)

In this window you can select several options in order to specify what is to be displayed by the explorer.

Colors (Colors)

Here you can change all the colors of all the displayed components of the application. We stick to the default settings.

External Editors (External Tools)

Here you can specify the default application that should be used to edit data, other than ProShow Producer, for eg, Photoshop, can be used to edit images.

Keyboard and Remotes (keyboard and remote control)

We retain the default settings.

Internet

As for the “Web Browser” option, you can specify your default web browser.

Miscellaneous (Miscellaneous)

This also can be left unchanged.

Playback (Play)

This is also untouched

Prompts

We’ll stick with the default settings.

Show defaults

Here are the default slide duration, transition time and transition effect that will be used by default in the entire show.

Sound Effects (Sound Effects)

This is also left unchanged

Thumbnails (thumbnails)

Again, we leave the default settings.

Light Box (Light Box)

The option, “Light box” displays all the slides in a single window and allows you to organize your show, better.
In the menu bar click on “Window”- “Show” and in the dropdown menu click on Light box, and you get the  “Light Box Slide View” screen.

At the top there are different buttons to work with this lightbox.
To close the “Light Box Slide View” window, click on “Window”- “Show”- “Lightbox”.

UNDO button (Reset button)

Sometimes you might make mistakes.
Fortunately there is a option of un-doing or re-doing one or more previous actions.
Click [Edit] on the menu bar and then select Undo or Redo.
There is no guarantee that these always work. Sometimes some anomalies might occur while using these options.
