Lesson 31: Show 27: Border as layer

Once again this is an exercise similar to a PowerPoint presentation. Throughout the show the framework is retained but the content changes smoothly from one image to another.

 

New show

  • Create a new show titled “Show 27_Africa”. Click [File]> [New show] and change the title in the Show Title box to “Show 27_Africa” and retain the aspect ratio at 4:3. Click [Create].

 

Dragging Photos

  • Select all the photos from Lesson 27 and drag them to the slide list, as layers. In this exercise we limit ourselves to 5, Africa_f (1), Africa_f (2), Africa_f (7), Africa_f (10), Africa_f (18).

 

Border as a layer

  • Select “kader.gif” and drag it as a layer on the 1st slide.

 

Borders for all slides

  • Double-click the slide and select [Layers]> [Layer Settings]. Right click on the topmost layer, and select [Copy] and then [Copy to All Slides].

 

Enter the Title

  • Select [Captions]> [Caption Settings] and use these settings:

Close this screen by clicking [OK].

 

Changing the Transition duration

  • Select all the slides and set the transition duration to 0 sec by selecting the appropriate box and making the adjustment.

 

Copying Slides

  • Slides 2, 3, 4 and 5 are copied and pasted but we also keep the original ones.

 

Adding Effects

  • Double-click the first slide and select [Effects]> [Adjustment Effects]. Select layer 2 “Africa_f (1). Set the [Opacity] at the [Starting position] to 100 and the [Ending position] to 0.
  • Go to slide 2 and set the [Opacity] of layer 2 from 0 to 100.
  • For slide 3, set the [Opacity] from 100 to 0.
  • For slide 4, we again reverse the [Opacity] from 0 to 100.
  • For Slide 5 the [Opacity] is set from 100 to 0.
  • For Slide 6 the [Opacity] is set from 0 to 100.
  • For Slide 7 the [Opacity] is set from 100 to 0.
  • For Slide 8 the [Opacity] is set from 0 to 100.
  • For the last slide we set the [Blur] from 0 to 100.
  • Close this window

 

Inserting and trimming Music

  • Select the music from Lesson 27 and drag it onto the slide list. Trim it so that it fits the duration of this show.

 

Saving the Show

  • Save this project by clicking [File]> [Save As], navigating to the correct folder where you want to save the project and changing the filename if necessary.

 

Flash Video output

  • Create a [FLASH video for web]. Click the [Create Output] button in the toolbar. In the menu, select [Flash]. In the following pictures you will find the necessary settings:

 

– Set the background music and select [Create Custom Menu].

The main menu changes as follows:

Click [Create] and the flash video is created. With the explorer, select the folder where you want to place this and enter the filename. As a result you’ll get more than one file.
