Lesson 37: Show 33: Text and movement

Here also you have a lesson with moving text. Here we move the texts in opposite directions, to get a special effect.

New show

Create a new show titled “Show 33_Youth”. Click [File]> [New show] and change the title in the [Show Title] box to “Show 33_Youth” and retain the aspect ratio at 4:3. Click [Create].

White background

First we create a new slide with a white background.
Right click on the empty slide list and select [Insert] and then [blank slide]. On the slide list we have a black slide along with a transition.
We make the background white.
Double-click the slide and select [Slide]> [Background].
Select the [On / Off] checkbox in the [Background Type] section.
In [Type], we select the radio button, [Solid Color]. We click the [Set] button and the color wheel opens, where we select white (RGB = 255/255/255). We then click [Set Color]. In the “Preview” pane we see the white background. Click [OK].

Dragging, zooming and placing Photo

Select the photo, “Motofun” from Lesson 33 and drag it to the 1st slide. Double-click the slide and select [Layers]> [Layer Settings].
The “Motofun” layer is placed in such a way that on the left side, part of the white background is visible, i.e, [Position] = 25 x 0. The picture needs to fill the rest of the slide, so set the [Zoom] to 115%.

Texts

Now we work with text on different layers.
Select [Captions]> [Caption Settings] and enter “Nights” in the text box.
We use the following settings:

[Font]: Edwardian Script ITC,
[Size]: 90,
[Left align]
[Color] : gold, RGB = 222/163/034 or HEX = DEA322,
[Position]: 22 x 0,
Select [Drop Shadow] and select black as the color,
in the [Text Effects] we use the following effects:

[Fly in]: pan left, [Normal]: slide left, [Fly out]: pan left.

On a new text layer that is created by clicking the [+] icon, we enter, “Die”, in the text box. We use the following settings:

[Font]: Georgia,
[Size]: 60,
[Bold]: not selected,
[Color]: White,
[Left align]
[Position]: 16 x 42,
[Drop Shadow]: selected and black is the selected color,
for [Text Effects] we use the following effects:
[Fly in]: pan right, [Normal] slide right, [Fly out]: pan right.

By clicking the [+] icon next to the text layer we create another one and we enter “Keeping up” in the text box.
We use the following settings:

[Font]: Georgia,
[Size]: 30,
[Not Bold]
[Color]: light yellow, RGB = 234/235/140 or HEX = EAEB8C,
[Center], [Position]: 70 x 75,
[Shadow] selected and the selected color is white,
[Text Effects]: use these effects:
[Fly in]: pan up, [Normal]: slide up, [Fly out]: pan up.

Click [OK] to close this menu

Saving the Show

Save this project under the name “Show 33_Youth”.
Click [File]> [Save As] navigate with explorer to the correct folder and change the [Name] if necessary.
