Lesson 64: Show 56: Creating a Show with the Wizard

ProShow Producer version 4.5 has an application that lets you quickly and conveniently create an entire show. Because there are many different steps, as the application itself selects some which can be used as a first draft. Then you can develop the show further by manually adjusting these according to your wishes.

 

Wizard button

  • In the toolbar, at the top, you will find the [Wizard] button.

This Wizard’s going to be with you on each successive screen to guide you in every step of your show..

 

Step 1: Photographs and / or video insertion

  • Click on the [Wizard] and then you get the following window:

In this window there are 2 buttons that can be used.
– Button [+ Add] (1): allows you go to your folder where your photos or videos are, with the help of the explorer, and you can select all that you want and then click on [Open] whereby the they will be retrieved.
– Button [Text] (2): With this button you can insert text slides. You enter your text and during this process, ProShow will display this in an appropriate manner.

Once you have retrieved your material there are some other buttons that are available.
There is also a [Remove] button, which lets you delete slide (s).
The [Randomize] button randomly shuffles the slides.
The [Rotate] button allows you to rotate the selected slide (clockwise).
The [Edit] button allows you to adjust a text slide that has been created.
You can also sort your slides manually. Select a slide and drag it to the desired location.
You can also see how much material is present. In this example there are 6 photos and 2 title slides.
If you are satisfied with your selection, click on [Next] (next).

 

Step 2: Music introduction

  • This displays the following window:

On this window you will find the following.
The [+] icon which helps you look for music on your PC, using the explorer, and imports it to the show.
You also have the [Remove] button to delete music.
The [Edit] button allows you to adapt the music to the following screen [Edit Timing].

It is not necessary to use this as ProShow adjusts itself automatically to the music track when the show is created.
Below this you have a list of the material being used. Here you have a track whose duration is 2min38sec. Furthermore you will find the [Cancel], [Back] and [Next] buttons.
[Cancel] allows you to quit the wizard.
[Back] allows you want to go back by one step.
[Next]: allows you proceed to the next screen.

 

Step 3: Selecting the theme

  • If you done with the music, click [Next], and this window is displayed:

ProShow gives you the option of selecting a range of themes comprising styles and transitions. A theme determines what effects are used. The name of a theme gives a little hint of its functionality. If you really know what’s in it, then you should try this. At the bottom of the screen all the transitions and styles that have been used in all themes, are displayed.

 

Managing themes:

  • Click the [Edit] button and then you can see the list of styles and transitions which are used in that specific theme.

You can insert or remove a particular style or transition from the theme and thereby customize it. There is also a [Remove] button to remove a possible theme.

  • Click on the [+] icon you can create your own theme.

Give a name to your theme and use the radio buttons to select where you want to get your styles and transitions from.
– Use the default set of effects: with this option, you can select from all styles and transitions that are available in ProShow.
– Use the effects selected in the current theme: with this option you can select styles and effects from the theme that is currently selected.

 

Step 4: Determining the final result

  • Click [Next] to go to the next screen:

Here you have the following options:

  1. [Name Your Show]: Enter the name of your show in this field.
  2. [Tune the Energy Level]: The “Energy level” allows you to select the speed of execution. This ranges from slow, [Low], to fast, [High].
  3. [Choose an Aspect Ratio]: Choose [Widescreen] (wide) or [Standard] (normal) screen.

 

Step 5: Ready to check

  • With the [Create] option you can go one step further.

Now, the show plays the specified options. If you don’t like the result, you can try again. Click [Try Again]. Then you can use the same slides to create another show with ProShow.

 

Step 6: Finishing the Show

  • If you are satisfied with your show, click [Next].

This screen allows you to finish the show.

  1. [Save Your Show]: Save your show as a work product and using the browser you can determine where to place it on your PC. This allows you to edit it at a later time.
  2. [Publish Your Show]: Create your show. You can work with the [Create Output] option where you can create your movie for a DVD or YouTube or any of the other options that are on offer.
  3. [Learn How to Customize or Fine Tune]: make various changes in your show using ProShow itself. This corresponds to creating another show.

 

  • Click [Done] and your show is ready in no time, depending on the number of photos and / or films used.
