Our route through the eyes of Street View – Part 1

It is a known fact that we can create our own route using “Google Maps”. But since the advent of “Google Street View” we can display this in the “Street View”.

To do this, we go to “Google Maps” (1).
We click the “Get Directions” (2) button, and select a description type which can be either “By car” or “Walking”.
For this example, I select “By car” (3). This will give me enough street view options.
If I select a “Walking” route, probably, 5 times as many views will be displayed.
This is very useful for hikers, but not for this example.

As a starting point, I enter an address in “St-Niklaas” (A).
I select the coastal town of “Oostende” (B) as my end point.
Then I click on “Get Directions” (4).
In order to view the street view of the place at which you are at the moment, in the map, double-click the guy that pops up next to each point in the route (5).

When you click the guy who pops up next to each point, you see the respective “Street View”.

The next point gives us the next “Street view”.

When a certain street on our route does not have the streetview, the orange guy icon does not appear next to that point in the route.  When we click on this point, it just shows the point on the map without the strreview.

The next point in our route has the street view again. Click on the orange guy to see the street view. We now get on to the highway.

It also shows the directions on the highway.

We will continue in the next lesson.

Awesome!
