“Clone Brush”

Sometimes when you take a picture, you may have to eliminate certain parts of the picture.

Just as in any other photo application we can do this in “PSP” also.

The first thing you have to do is open the photo.

Select the “Clone” tool in the tool bar.
In the options bar you can select several options such as “Size” and “Shape” for the brush you’re going to work with.  Once these settings are set, right click the mouse on the portion of the photo you want to “Clone”, and this is called the Source.
Click and drag over the portion of the photo that you want to remove, which is the guy and his bike, in this case.
As you move the mouse pointer over the picture (goal), you can see position of the Source move and only that portion of the picture will be cloned.

The same thing can be done with multiple photos.
Suppose you want to show the pictures of your bike to your buddies and you want to impress them, the best thing you can do is to just add to the photo.
First, open both pictures.
Right-click the Resource in the first picture which is the source photo.
Click and drag in the second photo which is target photo on the position where you want to place the cloned image.
Click and drag the mouse pointer over the target image, and you can see the portion of the source picture which you cloned.

If you have finished cloning, then save the picture under a different name, as this way you will still have the original one.

“HDR” Photo

This is a new option in “PSP X2”, so those of you who work with a previous version can skip this part of the lesson.

Let me first explain what are “HDR” photos.

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range.
In a HDR photo you can combine at least three identical photos, which can be an over-exposed, a normal, and an under-exposed one. With these three pictures the details between the light and dark areas is insufficient so you can add a fourth and a fifth which can be one that is even more underexposed, and one that is even more over exposed.

An example makes this clear.
For an “HDR” picture, click the “File” button in the menu bar and select “HDR Photo Merge” in the drop-down menu.
This opens the “HDR Photo Merge” dialog.

The first thing you have to do is load different images.
Click the “Browse” button, select the photos on your computer or your camera, and click the “Open” button.
If you want to select several adjacent pictures press the Shift key on your keyboard and to select different non-adjacent images keep the Ctrl key pressed during the selection.

Once the photos are loaded, the first thing you have to do is to align the pictures.Click the button, “Align Images”. A window opens where you can track the status of the alignment.
To combine different pictures into a picture, click the button, “Suggest Settings”.
“PSP X2” will make the best possible suggestion. After finishing, place it  in the preview window to see a sample.
If you wish to make some changes, use the scroll bars “Brightness” and / or “Clarify”. If you are satisfied, click the OK button.

When you save the merged photo you are asked if you would want to retain the individual photos.

Awesome!
