“One Step Photo Fix”

The easiest and fastest way to optimize the quality of a picture is making use of the “One-step Photo Fix” function.
We find this option by selecting “Adjust” in the menu bar and “One Step Photo Fix” in the drop-down menu.
The quality of the photos is corrected optimally with a single click. By the standards of “PSP” this is quite fast.
Keep in mind that an ass is not a horse. The same thing goes for a photo.
If your picture doomed to end up in the trash, you cannot save it or make it better even with “PSP”.

“Smart Photo Fix”

For the freaks among us we have the “Smart Photo Fix” in “PSP”.
We can change the quality of our pictures and we can also have more control over the brightness of the picture with this option.

Click on the “Adjust” button in the menu bar and select “Smart Photo Fix” in the drop-down menu.
This opens a dialog where we adjust the brightness of the darker and lighter parts of the picture separately.

Clicking the “Advanced Options” checkbox gives us additional options where there are separate white and black balance settings.

Another tip which might be useful

If the brightness of a picture is so intense, that it appears very grainy, or, in other words if all the pixels in the picture are more like a checkerboard, then you can eliminate this with the “One Step Noise Removal” option.
We can find this option under the menu item, “Adjust”.
We can not expect miracles but we get better results.
