New

We have the option of creating a new document, based on a template from one of the categories, or to create a document that is not based on a template.
The difference between them, is that when you create a document from a template you have all the available shapes listed on the right side of the application window, on all flyers, which can be used in our document and you can also search for the required shapes.

However, if you decide to create a new document that is not based on a template, you can just search for certain shapes.

Whatever you choose, there we have a number of possibilities for creating a new document.

One way is to click on the “File” tab in the “Menu bar”, select “New”, and select one of the options.
A second way is to click on the arrow next to the “New” button in the standard toolbar, and select a template from one of the categories.
A third way is to click on the “New” button in the standard toolbar.

Whatever you do, when you create a new document you always get to see a blank document.

Those of us who work with the professional version of “Visio”, probably have a lot more templates available, along with the “Samples” and “Getting Started” tabs and the various categories displayed in the “Getting Started with Microsoft Office Visio” window.

This has its advantages, in the sense that you will not have to start with a blank document, because you can use one of the examples and start with a document wherein all the different shapes are included.
But this version is much too expensive for me, so I use the standard version.

Awesome!
