Presentation

If you want to make a presentation of all your photos, there’s a quick way to do this in Premiere Elements.

The first thing you do is select the photos that are already in the “Project” pane.
When these photos are all under one another in the list, then click the top photo, keep the Shift key on your keyboard pressed and click on the photo below.

If all these are not under superposed pictures keep the Ctrl button on your keyboard pressed when you select photos.

Click and drag the photos in the first blank line under the Scene.
What I’m about to show works the same way only in the scene line, not in the timeline.

When you release the mouse pointer, it displays a menu with two options.
“Add as individual stills” and “Add as Grouped slideshow”.

If you choose the first option “Add as individual stills”, nothing special happens. The photos will appear in their own context, and if you wish to make them a presentation, you need to set the transitions between each photo manually.

The second option, “Add as Grouped slideshow”, opens a dialog box to automatically create a presentation.

In the top box you determine the order of the pictures, i.e, “Sort Order” or “Selection sequence”.
The first option will sort the various pictures as they are in the list.
The second option will sort photos that you have selected in the list.

In the “Image Duration” box you can determine the length of time an image remains visible. This can be in seconds or in frames.

When the check box “Apply default transition” is selected, Premiere automatically adds a fade-in fade-out transition between each clip.
In the space provided below that you can determine the over all length. This also can be set with respect to frames or seconds.
Click the OK button when you’re done.

This places all the photos in a grouped scene context.
To expand it, click the arrow to the right.

As you notice there is a “fade-in fade-out” transition between each clip.
Click the left arrow to the right of the last clip where all these clips grouped to get back their individuality.

Another remark.
This automatic creation of a presentation, only works if you only various clips of still photographs and not when there’s a movie clip in between.
