Effects

In Premiere Elements, we have a number of effectsb that can be applied, especially for the sound.
This is like the video effects under the “Edit” tab – option “Effects”.
Select Audio effects in the drop-down menu.
we have the Standard and balance effects.
If you want to add an effect, select it from the list and click the “Apply” button, just like the video effects.

To edit an effect we click the “Edit Effect” button, as you would have guessed.
And just like in the video effects, here also we work with keyframes.
These keyframes are displayed in the audio track where you’ve added them.
You can change their places by clicking and dragging the main frame.
Therefore they are automatically adjusted in the “keyframes” pane.
All the rest remain exactly the same as the video effects.

Perhaps I’ll take a closer look at an effect.
Take the case of the “Reverb” effect.
The speciality of this effect is that you have an option, wherein you can hear the effect as if it was in a different room, and is crystal clear even if the noise is as big as a grain of salt.
We also have this effect displayed in the visual display “keyframes” pane.

Smart mix

A new feature in Premiere Elements 8 is the “Smart Mix” option.
What this does is it automatically brings the different sounds in your movie to the foreground, background, or it disables the sound.

Just click the “Audio Tools” button above the Timeline, select “Smart mix”, and click “Options.”
Select “Apply” in the drop-down menu, and Premiere does everything automatically at once, but I like to customize certain things, so I select “Options.”
This opens the “Mixer Options” pane.
Here I can determine where I want to place each sound, whether in the foreground or background and I can also turn it off.

Click the “Apply” button when you’re done, and Premiere ensures that everything runs smoothly.

Awesome!
