Detect and resolve

In Windows 7 we have the opportunity to detect and resolve Windows problems. Although this is not always the case.

Just click the “Start” button in the taskbar, and type “problems” in the search box.

Click the option “Find and fix problems.”

In the dialog that appears, choose the option that matches your problem type.
In this case I’d go for “Troubleshoot audio playback.” Because I hear nothing from my headphones.

Windows 7 looks for the audio resources installed on your computer.
In the dialog that appears, I click the “Next” button (1).
In the second dialog box (2) that appears I select my USB headset, and click “Next”.

And in the last window, select “Close”.

Windows has found and fixed the problem, there is no problem.
If this is not the case, you might want to present the problem to someone else.

Problem Record

When Windows was unable to solve the problem, perhaps you know someone who specializes in computer problems. We will take the problem to him / her through email.
But instead of trying to describe this in our e-mail, we record everything.
To do this open the “Control Panel” and click “Find and fix problems.”
On the left of the screen, it opens a menu with the option “Get Help from a friend”.

In the next window, click the “Problem Steps Recorder”.

This opens a toolbar with the buttons “Start Recording”, “Stop Recording” and “Add Comment”.
When you click the “Start Recording” button, all the clicks that you make from then on your computer are recorded as separate snapshots, ie as each image.
So repeat all the actions you performed before the problem showed up, until the problem turned up, and click the button “Stop Recording”.

As soon as you click the “Stop Recording” button, a window appears asking where to position the file, in this case the desktop, and to enter a filename.
Namely what Windows does is, it takes a picture (Snapshot) of each mouse click and explains the problem that occured through text.
All these photos and text is put in a zipped file.
All you have to do is send this zipped file to the person who hopefully knows a solution for you.
