Manual transitions

When we apply a theme to our project, all the transitions and zoom features are automatically selected by MovieMaker.
We can also manually add a slide, or a few slides.

Let me first start with the transitions.

First, place the mouse pointer on the slide where you want to apply the transition to (1).
Then choose the tab “Animations” (2) in the menu bar.

This opens a list of different transitions (3).
By clicking on the downward pointing arrow in the lower right corner of the list, there are more transitions (4).
Enough choice, I would say.

When you move the mouse pointer over a transition, you already see the example of the transition in the preview window.

If you have found a transition that you want to apply, click this transition.
If you would like to apply this transition between all slides, click the text “Apply to All” (5).
Possibly you can customize the duration of the transition in the “Display Time”.

If you do not wish a transition between two slides, choose the first option in the transition list (A).
If you want a transition to apply to multiple slides, select the different slides first, and only then click on the transition.

For example, if you wish to have one and the same transition for all movies in your project and a different transition for all photos, then select all the clips in your project, and you click the transition you want.
Then select all pictures in your project, and click the transition you wish to apply between the pictures.

This I have already told you, but I will reiterate.
To select adjacent files, click the first file, hold the Shift key on your keyboard pressed and click the last file.
For non-adjacent files, click to select each file while holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard pressed.

Pan and Zoom

By using the “Pan and Zoom” we can get some motion in a picture so that it looks like a little video.

For this you select the photo (1) and select the tab “Animations” (2).
In the list (3) with different pan and zoom tools click those you want to apply.
Again we find it by clicking on the arrow pointing down a whole bunch of different options. If you wish to apply to all photos, click the button “Apply to All” (5).

We use the same technique for the transitions, zoom options for set for individual photos.

If you wish, you can also use zoom options for movies of course.

Is is impossible to say much more.

Display Time slide set

As you saw in one of the earlier lessons, when you insert a picture in your project, it is set with a standard display time of 7 seconds.
Of course, we can change it.

Select above the first picture (1) or photo, choose the tab “Edit” in the menu bar and change the duration of the display in the “Display Time” (3) by clicking on the downward pointing arrow.

Obviously you have this option for a movie, there we have another option. But more about that in a later lesson.

Awesome!
