Add Title

When we use a theme, it is automatically added to a slide with text.
We can also add text manually.

Place the time indicator for the first slide or another slide where you want to insert text, and click the button “Add Title” (1), found under the tab “Home”.

This places a slide with black background for the previous slide (1).
In this slide we find a text box where we may enter text, title in this case.
Double-click the text box and type your text.
You can position the text box by dragging the mouse pointer over to the edge, and when it changes into a four-arrow, click and drag it(2).
You can resize the text box by clicking and dragging the blocks on the edge of the box (3).

With a text slide, when the tab “Format” in the menu bar is selected, we find a number of options at the top of the ribbon to format text (A).
All these seem clear to me.

To its right, in the “Adjust” (B) section, we find the “Edit Text” button with which we can select our text.
We also have the option “Background color” that we can use to change the background color of the text slide.
And we have the box “Start Time” and the box “Text Duration”.
With the first, we set the start time of appearance of the text. If you want to wait two seconds before the text appears, type 2 in here.
And in the box “Text Duration” we determine the length of the text slide.

And finally we have the “Effects” section where we can provide an effect to a the text slide. Again we find a downward pointing arrow with multiple effects.
And I must be honest, there are really some very funny effects here.

To apply an effect, click the effect of your choice.
To delete an effect, click the downward pointing arrow, then choose “None” as an effect.

For your information:
You can add as much text to slides as you want.

Add caption

A second way to add text to our movie is through the “Caption” (1).

les07_image003_en

When you click this button, this puts a text box (2) in the slide.
For this type of text you have the same options as of title type.
The only difference is that for a title, an additional slide is created, while for the caption text is placed in the slide.
When a slide is equipped with text, it is listed under the slide in Storyboard (3).

You can change this text in the storyboard and also click and drag it to another slide.
You can even copy and paste to another slide.
Select the text under the slide in the storyboard, click Ctrl + C on your keyboard.
Select the slide where you want to paste this text and then Ctrl + V on your keyboard.
The only thing you have to do is change the text, layout, and the effects are copied

Add Credits

And finally we have the credits for our movie.
When you click this button, it opens a drop-down menu with four options.
These are all the same, just the change of title above the text of these.

All options in the ribbon for credits are equal to the previous text-types, so I must not repeat.

Make sure that when you apply an effect on the end credits, “Text Duration” is long enough to be able to display all text.
