Hair mask

Another example that I want to show is how to do hair masks, and now that I’m here, I will also show you how to do bubbles masks.

We start with the keep colors to determine the hair.

Then select the colors you want to delete. That is the “Drop” colors.

Then I select the “Magic Brush Tool” and click and drag around the girl and her hair.
The bubbles are for later.

It looks good, but it has some blue pixels in her hair, but I will soon remove them too.

First the bubbles.  For this I create a new set of Keep and Drop colors. You don’t have to, but this makes it easier to select when you are making a mask.

So everything that looks blue in and around the bubbles may be gone, white and light gray may be retained.

Once all colors are selected, click and drag with the “Magic Brush Tool” on the bubble.

I find it easier when I see it in the “solid view”, I can still see where my bubbles are.

Then I work with the “Chisel Tool” where ever required to do away with the blue edges.

And remove the blue pixels between the hairs with the “Magic Brush Tool”, or any other tool that you prefer to work with.

This looks like a fine mask.

Let us see this in Photoshop.
In this example I placed a black intermediate layer, so that we can see the bubbles better.

Awesome!
