Preparing a Photo

Before we can work with Mask Pro, we must have a picture with two layers, or a picture foro which we have made a background layer a normal layer.

You can not remove parts from a background layer, but you can make it transparent. And that’s what Mask Pro does, it makes your pictures into transparent parts.

So you have a picture you want to make partially transparent, double-click the background layer and click the Ok button in the dialog box that appears.
This makes a “normal” layer (2) of the background layer (1) which it is no longer locked.

Have a photo of two layers, for example, a picture showing another photo dragged (3) into it, then you have no problem removing parts from the top layer, because it is always unlocked. Unless you locked it of course. But this is not the intention.

In most cases when we use Mask Pro, we want to remove the background of a photo, so that it is displayed neatly with the new background.

In this case I took the picture of the girl, dragged into the picture with the background.
The first thing we do, at least when it is needed, is to adjust the dimensions of the picture added to the dimensions of the photo used as a background.

Then we set the opacity (1) of this layer to a bit transparent, so we can see what we are doing.

Then click the shortcut Ctrl T on your keyboard and click and drag a corner of the layer, until you reached the desired size for the layer (2).

When you reached the desired size, click the Enter key on your keyboard to confirm.

Use the “Move” (1) tool to move the layer to the correct position.

Now you can remove the transparency of this layer, set the opacity back to 100% (2). We do not need this anymore.

And give a name to this layer, “girl” (3) seems like a good choice.

Open Mask Pro

Once the preparation of our composite picture is done, let’s Mask Pro open.

If this is not the case, first select the layer where you want to apply the mask (1). In this case the “girl” layer.

Click the “Filter” button in the menu bar (2), select “onOne” in the drop-down list (3), and click “Mask Pro” (4).

This opens the “Mask Pro” plug-in.
In the next lesson, we will discuss what we are going to see.

Awesome!
