Standard tools (2)

Chisel Tool

With the Chisel Tool, we can get further cleanup the highlighted area.

As you can see in the image below the edge of the hand is still blue. Probably not a good selection with the Pen Tool or whatever.

Do not panic, you do not have to start again.

You can remove them with the Chisel Tool.

The Chisel tool has three options, the Edge Brush and the Brush Size, like almost every other tool, and the option “Shave Amount”.

With the “Shave Amount” option determines, how far from the edge the pixels are removed.

The less (Less) how accurate the color of the pixels must be to remove.

So drag the “Shave Amount” far left (Less), then the color of the pixel should be exactly the same, otherwise it is not removed.

This is a very good way to remove pixels around the edge that still has a bit of the background color.

If you have deleted too much, change the Restore Mode, the green box in the toolbox (1), and click and drag on the excess removed parts.

Airbrush Tool

With the airbrush tool, we have the same options and pretty much do the same.
May be a little more precise.

Blur Tool

We use the Blur Tool to soothen the blending mode between the mask and the background.

We have three options for the Blur tool also.

The Edge Brush, the Brush Size, which we now already know, and the Blur Amount.

With the Blur Amount option, we determine the number of pixels that the Blur will add.

An example makes this clear.
1 is the original.
2 is set to less blur
3 is set to more blur.

To work with the Blur tool, click and drag over the edge of the mask, in this case the flower.

Awesome!
