Eyedropper tools

Mask Pro is different from other masking tools in Photoshop or other plug-ins for Photoshop.
In Mask Pro you determine the colors you want to keep, and the colors you want to delete.

For the colors you want to keep, click in the image with the eyedropper with the green dot (1) and click in the image with the eyedropper with the red dot (2) the for colors you want to delete.

The colors you have selected to retain are placed in the “Keep” panel (A) and the colors you have selected to remove are placed in the “Drop” panel (B).

Double-clicking a color in the “Keep” or “Drop” palette opens the “color picker” where you can set the color with a certain value.

If you want to change a color in the “Keep” or “Drop” panels, hold the Alt key on your keyboard pressed while you click another color in the picture.
To determine the average number of the colors, click and drag over the different colors in the image.

To create a new set of colors in the “Keep” or “Drop” panels, click the “Create new set …” (1) button.

This is useful when you want to retain / delete certain colors on one side of the image, but not on the other side of the image.
To select a set, click the white block for the set (4).

The “Create new color …” button (2) will add a blank color segment to the list.

The “Delete Color” button (3) will remove the color from the list. To remove a whole set of colors, click and drag the set to the trash icon.

If you have a color in the “Keep” panel that should actually be placed in the “Drop” panel, you can drag it to the other window.

Highlighter tools

With the “Highlighter” tools we do not determine the colors we want to keep or remove, but we determine regions we wish to keep or remove.

Select this tool, “Keep highlight” (1) or “Remove highlight “(2), and click and drag the area you wish to keep or delete in the image.

“Keep” is to preserve, “Remove” is to delete.

You can change the diameter of the brush by moving the scroll wheel of the mouse up or down, or sliding the lever in the “Tools Options” (A).

Or the left and right arrow buttons on your keyboard.

Select the “Magic Brush tool” tool (A) and click and drag in the image, Mask Pro will only compare the color values of the areas selected with the “Keep highlight” and “Remove highlight” tools, and determines colors that should be preserved and removed on this basis.

If you have selected a highlighter by mistake, select the tool, hold the Alt key on your keyboard pressed while you click and drag on the selected area (B).

If you have a closed area, such as a circle (1) with a highlighter tool and if you want to fill the whole area, hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard pressed and click the mouse pointer when changes into a “bucket” (2).
This will fill the entire area (3).

Detail view of “Keep” and “Drop” colors

To view a detail view of the “Keep” and “Drop” colors, click the “View” button in the menu bar and choose “Keep Drop Detail View” in the drop-down menu.  This opens the “Keep / Drop Color Detail” dialog with two tabs.

One with the colors you have selected with the “Highlighter Colors” tool and the other with the colors you have selected with the”Eyedropper Colors” tool.

By selecting the colors in the left or right window, you can move the colors from the drop window to keep the window or vice versa.
