Using Outlook as “My Computer” (XP and 2000)

You can use Outlook to organize your files and folders, as you would do this via the “My Computer” icon on your desktop.
Click on the “Other” section in the Outlook bar, and select “My Computer” or “My Documents”.
From here we can navigate to the folder we want.
Alternatively, you can still use the “Advanced” toolbar.
To open, click “View” – “Toolbars” in the menu bar and click “Advanced”.

Using Outlook as a browser

We can also use Outlook as a browser.
The only thing we have to do this is to open the “Web” toolbar, and give a web address.
For the “Web” toolbar, click “View” – “Toolbars” in the menu bar and click “Web”.

The Outlook window option

As with any Microsoft Application we can customize the default settings of Outlook.
Click on “Tools” – “Options” in the menu bar.
In the “Options” dialog, we have the ability to change the settings in the various tabs.
However, it would be impossible to mention all this here, so I suggest to try first. If you are curious about the effect of a particular option, click the “question mark” in the upper right corner of the dialog, and click the button. This opens a window containing a little more explanation.
If you’re not sure of the effect of the option, it might be better not to set it.
