Creating Categories:

We have created three sections in the previous lesson.
What we now need to do now is to create different categories for the different sections.

Click on “Category Manager” in the “Control panel”, or click on “Content” in the “Menu bar” and select “Category Manager” from the drop-down menu.

In the “Category Manager” click “New”, just as we did in the “Section Manager”.
Creating a category is no big deal.
Enter a title in the “Title” (1) text box, select a section by clicking on the “Section” tab(2), and then click “Save” (3).

We repeat this procedure for all categories.
Attention! Remember to choose the correct section for each category .
If you have entered everything correctly, then the “Category Management” window should look like this:
The three sections are divided into seven categories.

 

Granting of Sections and categories:

When we start adding articles, we have the opportunity to select a category and a section for this article.

When all items are entered, they are displayed in the “Article Manager” window.
If you forgot to give the section and / or category for an item, or you have written an article for sections and categories that you haven’t created, open the article by clicking on the title (1) from the list in the text box, and select a section and category in the space provided.
Depending on the section selected from the drop down menu, the different categories of this section will be displayed.
Click “Save”, when you’re done.

If you’re looking for a particular item in a lengthy list, use the “filter boxes” (2) such as “Select Section” and “Select Category” to facilitate a smooth search.
