Preview Slideshow

Once the slideshow is finished, we look at it of course.
The first thing you do is selecting the first slide (read picture) in the slideshow.
For this you select it in the filmstrip (1) or click the “Back to first slide” button in the menu bar (2) of the slide.
Click the “Show Preview” button (3) or the “Preview” (4).
To stop the preview, click again on the “Back to first slide” button in the menu bar (2) of the slide.
If you want to see the presentation in full screen, click the “Play” button (5). Use the Esc key on your keyboard to the playback mode.

While previewing the slideshow, you can still make changes to the different windows.
You will see that the display of the preview will change immediately.
You can try to change the background color as you watch the preview.

If you have a collection somewhere, you can also play this arid collection as a slideshow by selecting it and clicking the “Play” button.
This indeed plays with the same settings as those we had just made;

Exporting a slideshow

In Lightroom, we have different options to export our slideshow.
At the bottom of the screen we have two buttons, “Export PDF” and “Export Video”
“Export PFD” will export as PDF, what did you think?.
“Export Video” will export your slideshow as an MP4 file.
What you can also have is, to hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and click “Export PDF”.
This button will change the export to JPEG and all your photos from the slideshow are exported as JPG files.

But Lightroom will not only export them as JPG files, it will also automatically create a folder with the same name you chose for your files.
So, if you have chosen the name Peter, Lightroom will create a folder named Peter, containing the pictures called Peter-1.jpg, Peter-2.jpg and so on.

Once you exported the photos, you can edit the photos in another application such as Photoshop.

The same export options are also represented under the “Slideshow” in the menu bar.

If you have selected to export to video, you have a setting for the video mode.
Larger in size, the larger the file of course.

If you have selected to export as PDF, you can manually enter the dimensions above or choose one of the predefined sizes.
