Lesson 32: The “Modification” toolbar (10)

The “Follow me” tool (6) – Second problem

The second problem we may have is the extra lines on top of our roof where we used the “Follow Me” tool to complete the roof.
The reason for this is that when drawing the base plane, the first line was drawn from the center.
You can also start from scratch here, but we can do it quicker.

First, change the angle with the “Rotate” tool so that you have the display as shown below.
With the “Select” tool, drag from right to left, over the redundant lines.

This selects everything in the selection framework.
You had already seen this in lesson 20 of this course.
Right-click anywhere inside the selected area, select “Intersect” (Intersect) in the drop-down menu, and click “Intersect Selected” (Intersect Selected ).

This option will is to add extra lines to the geometry of the figure.
See the difference in the image below.
As you can see in the picture “After”, SketchUp has added an extra line, we need to correct the two parts in the roof.

Now that we  have this rather very important additional line, we can remove the rest of the lines with “Eraser”.

As a result, a great roof.

Awesome!
