Google - SketchUp

Lesson 4: Start at the beginning

Customize Display

Before we begin, I would like to make a change to the display.

We had already seen when we open SketchUp, we are in a 3D working area.

I have a bit of adjustment to make it as a 2D working area. It’s a piece of cake, to later make it as a 3D working area, and it is a little easier to demonstrate the tools at first.

I click on the “Window” button in the menu bar and select “Preferences”.

In the dialog that appears on the left I select “Category” and on the right “metric centimeter-2D”, and click the OK button.

By pressing the “New” button in the “Standard” toolbar I open a new file.

All new files that we would open should show a template with white background.
The picture below is what you should see in the SketchUp environment for application:

To best way to follow easily is to do the same.
