“Layout View” (2)

The great advantage of the “Layout View” is that it is a lot easier to resize fields and arrange the fields.

All tools to arrange fields are found in the “Arrange” contextual tab in the “Ribbon”.

To change or resize a “Control”, select the “Control” and move the mouse pointer over the right edge of the box.
When it changes into a double arrow, click and drag it until you’ve reached the right size.

You will see that the size of each “Control” of the same type will be adjusted.
This is because the “Control” elements are grouped together and can be edited as a whole.  This makes it easy to rearrange fields, columns, rows or the complete layout.

We have two formats:
“Tabular”

and “Stacked”

To switch from one format to another, select a “Control”.
Click the selection lever that appears at the top left of the table, so that everything is selected.

Click the “Tabular” or “Stacked” button depending on what you want .

To remove the group of the classification, click the “Delete” button.

Now you can move or resize  every single control.

By dragging the selection lever, you can move the entire table.

The “Layout View” is a powerful new feature of “Access” 2007 that will prove useful often in the preparation of “Forms”.

Multiple layout views

We also have the option of using two different layout formats to display a “Form”.

As you can see in the figure, the data is displayed in a “Stacked” format.

To change the format and display of some fields, select the fields and click the “Tabular”button in the “Ribbon”.

Now, both formats have their own selection lever.

By clicking and dragging the selection handles, we can position the different formats.
