Format Text Box

In “Publisher”, not only can we format the text in a text box, we can also format the text box.

To do this, right-click on the text box.
Select “Format Text Box” from the drop-down menu.

In the dialog box that appears, in the first section, we have the option of setting the corresponding “Color” and “Transparency”. Click on the arrow pointing downward and select the “More colors” option.

Select “Fill Effects” from the drop-down menu when you want to use various background colors for your text box.

In the section “Line”, you can select a color for the edges of your text, possibly with an edge illustration.

If you have the time, you should try them all, there are plenty of options.

Change text size

To change the dimensions of a text box, select the text box, click and drag on the dot at the edges of the box until you’ve reached the right size.

To rotate a text box, click and drag the red circle at top of the box, to the left or right.
To move the text box, move the mouse pointer over the edge of the box, and when it changes into a four-headed arrow, click and drag the text box to the desired position.

Working with color schemes

In “Publisher”, as previously mentioned in
Lesson 1 of this course, we have various “Color schemes”.

If they are not displayed, click on “View” in the “Menu bar” and select “Task Pane” from the drop-down menu.

Click the double-headed down-arrow, next to the “Colour schemes” tab, to open up this menu.

Select one of the preset schemes to be applied to the selected text box, or click on the “Create New color scheme ” if you don’t find anything that suits your requirement.

This opens the “Create New Color Scheme” dialog box.

In this dialog box you have a “Main color”, and one or more “Accent colors”, which can be set.

You can set a color for “Hyperlinks”, and one for “Followed hyperlinks”. This comes in handy when you are creating a Web page.

Specify the name of the color scheme, and click the “Save” button.

One tip, the colors that already exist in the various options, are the colors that appear in the selected scheme, when the “Create New Color Scheme …” button is clicked.
This is useful when only a few colors need to be changed from the selected scheme, in the customized scheme.

First, select the existing scheme, click on the “Create New Color Scheme …” button, and just change the colors that are to be modified.

Give the schedule a name, and click the “Save” button.
