  • to apply a style we need to first select the text, click the down arrow next to the “Style” box in the  Format toolbar

  • the style is applied immediately

Making a paragraph style

Based on a previously formatted paragraph, we can make a paragraph Style:

to apply paragraph style to “text block 2”

You can adjust the width of the frames to the left and right of the paragraph mark.

To get an overview of all the styles that are applied to a document:

  • We first place the document in the “Normal view” (View – Normal View)
  • Click on the Tools menu, click Options
  • Click on the View tab
  • Set a margin for the display of the styles for example 3, in the “Format” Window
(You can always change it later by dragging the vertical line)
  • Click OK

You can always change the style or choose a different style by double clicking on the appropriate style

We have already seen the way to do this.

If you change a style, then Word applies it to all texts or paragraphs where you have used this style.

In the menu ‘Format’ – ‘Theme’ – ‘Gallery Styles’ we can see the different templates that appear in our document.
