Lesson 83: Puppet Warp (2)

83/94 Lessons

Apply Puppet Warp

Before we apply the “Puppet Warp”, we first make our layer, the layer with the girl, into a smart object.
This makes it easier to make changes later.
This does not have to be, but I strictly recommend it to you when you are working with the “Puppet Warp”.

We do this by right clicking the layer and choosing “Convert to Smart Object”.
Then we add the “Puppet Warp”.
Just click the “Edit” button in the menu bar and select “Puppet Warp” in the drop-down menu.
This places a “Net” about turning object (A).
If you do not want to see this “Net”, you can hide it by selecting “Show Mesh” button in the Options bar (B).

To turn certain parts of the young lady, we must a add point or multiple points (A).
Place the mouse pointer over the position in the image where you want to add one point, when the pointer is changed to a pin (B), click.
If you add only one point and allow it to drag and drop, you can move the lady around.

Click and drag with the various points, until you’ve reached the desired adjustments.
Click the Enter key on your keyboard.
As you can see in the image below, an editable filter (1) and a mask are automatically added in the “Layers” panel (2).
This would not be the case if you have not made the layer into a “smart object” layer.

By selecting the filter mask (1) and coloring with black, white or gray, we can hide or show the impact.
If you think that this filter mask is not needed, right click it and select “Delete Filter Mask”.
If you still want to use it later, right click the Smart Filter and select “Add Filter Mask”.

By double-clicking editable filter (2), we can see again the different points added and we can delete or move them.

Awesome!
