Creating a Style

We saw how to change a style in the previous lesson but, there’s nothing wrong in talking about it once more.

To create a style, first select the text that has the format, you want to save, as a style.

Click the “More …” button in the ribbon, and select “Save Selection as a New Quick Style.”

This opens the “Create New Style from Formatting” dialog box.
Give your style an appropriate name, and click “OK”.

Your style is now placed first in the list of quick styles:

Removing Styles:

To remove a style from the Quick Style list, right click on it and select “Remove from Quick Style gallery.”

To create a style or to remove it from the list of styles, and the list of “Quick Styles”, click the downward pointing arrow (1) next to the “Styles” group, select the style you wish to remove, from the drop-down menu, click the downward pointing arrow (2), and select the “Delete …” option (3).

If you remove a style only from the Quick Styles gallery, it still exists in the list of styles.
