Copy Layout

If you want a new slide layout, you do not have to start from scratch.

You can copy a slide layout and then edit it.

First open your layout in “Slide Master” view.

Right-click the slide layout that you wish to copy and choose “Duplicate Entry” in the drop-down menu.

This places the copied slide layout just beneath the original slide layout.

You can change this new layout to your liking, and rename it.

Multiple slide masters

If your presentation is using different themes, then you have the ability to create multiple slide masters.

Click on the “Insert Layout” (1) button in the “Ribbon”, under the ” Slide Master ” tab.

The new master will be added below the first master (2).

Select the second master slide.
Click the “Themes” (3) button and choose a theme from the drop-down list.

Change the layout of the new slide master, and close the “Slide Master” view.

Now click the “New Slide” button or the “Layout” button under “Home” tab, you will see that the second master slide is added to the drop-down list.

Removing Master Slide

To remove a master slide, select the slide master in the “Slide Master” view and click the “Delete” button in the “Ribbon”.

When you remove a master slide that was used in the slides in the presentation, “PowerPoint” will choose another master slide.
