Inserting rows (columns) quickly .

In the Excel 2007 Course, in Lesson 7, you can see how to insert rows and columns in a worksheet.

In this example, we use an alternative method.
We have a data area comprising a column of dates and another one which has values.  Insert 4 rows after row 6.

Select the entire row by clicking on the row header (1), go to the bottom left corner of cell A6 and the cursor changes to a four-headed arrow, press and hold the Shift key and drag the left mouse button, which changes to a double-headed arrow, four rows down. (2).

To add columns, select the column header (1) and while holding down the Shift key, drag the left mouse button to the top right corner (2).
