Formatting and customizing cells with the same color.

In this tip, we will discuss selecting and customizing multiple cells with the same color format.

Suppose you have a file that you have created and, after a while, think that the colors you’ve used for a number of cells are not the right choice, in your opinion, you can press the Ctrl key, select all the cells one by one by clicking and selecting a different color. This is going to be fast when only a few cells are concerned but, what if there are dozens or hundreds of them?

There is a faster way to select these cells.
Click on the “Home” tab (1) and click on the “Find and Select”(2) button in the “Ribbon”.

In the “Find and Replace” dialog box that appears, click on “Options” (1) button.

In the expanded dialog box, select the “Sheet” option for the “Within” text box (1), click on the arrow next to “Format” (2) and then “Choose Format From Cell” (3).

The cursor changes to a cross with a dropper.

Click on one of the cells on the sheet whose layout you want to customize, click on “Find All” (1) and in the lower part of the “Search and Replace” dialog box a list (2) of cells that have the same format of the selected cell, is displayed.

Press Ctrl + A (Select All) and all cells in the list are selected (1).
Click “Close” (2).

Then, click on “Home” in the ribbon and select another color for the cells.

All the selected cells will now get the new color.

Awesome!
