Dynamic range of functions, graphs and PivotTables:

 
In this tip, I will show you some dynamic features.

To automatically adjust the result of a formula to the data in our spreadsheet, we place this data in a table.
As you can see in the image below, the formula in cell D2, is not automatically adjusted to the data which is added to the worksheet.


However, we can place this data in a table, select the “Insert” tab and click the “Table” button.


Then the formula that we enter, is automatically adjusted to the data that we add to this table.
To add data to the table, select the cell right below the table, press the tab key on your keyboard and type the data.
You will see that a row is automatically added to the table and in the formula.


In the “Chart” based on this table, the data is added automatically.


If you have a “PivotTable” based on this table, you must click the “Options” tab under “Pivot Table tools” and click the “Refresh” button.
Only then, will the “PivotTable” automatically adapt to the data in the table.
“Refresh” is the another word for “renew”.
