Selecting a single value in a list box- Part 3

We now return to the “Name Manager” dialog box, where we find the newly created name (14) and click on close (Excel automatically adjusts the formula with the tab name to be included in the formula (15).

Back in the worksheet, we select cells C3 to C22 (16).

Then we go to the “Data” tab on the ribbon (17) and click on “Data Validation” (18).

In the “Data Validation” dialog box, we select “Allow” for the “List” text box (19) and we place the cursor in the “Source” text box (20).

We press the F3 function key, and then in the “Paste Name” dialog box that appears, we select the name from the list we have created (21) and click OK.

We now return to the “Data Validation” dialog box, where the name of the list is entered in the “Source” text box (22) and click OK.

We select the column headings F, G, H and I, right-click them, and select “Hide” (23).

Finally, we save our file as a template (see Course Excel 2010 Lesson 23) , so we can start each day with a blank list and save the work done date-wise.
