Scissors

The selection tool, “Intelligent Scissors” is what they call an intellectual selection tool.

When you select something with the tool, “Scissors”, GIMP will try to determine the color contrast between adjacent pixels.

To select the scissors tool, first make your selection and then click the image at the different places where you want to place anchor points.
GIMP will try to find where there is color contrast between the pixels, and from this, determine where the line between the selection anchors has to be placed.
If GIMP does not do this accurately, according to what you had in mind, you can drag the anchor points, and GIMP will make another attempt.

As an example I will edit the road markings in this photo, because if I’m on the road, workers must wait, since there are accidents which have already taken place.

If you want to add an extra anchor point, click on the line.
With this new anchor point you can then start to change the progress of the selection line

When GIMP has made a mess, you can change the selection with any other selection tool.
Here I use the “Fuzzy Select” option to remove such excess selected pixels.

When the line on the road is selected, select a bike.

Select “Color” in the menu bar of the window, and click “Color Balance”.
Then change the middle colors “Red” and “Green” to the maximum.
This gives me a beautiful yellow color.

The difference is clear.

Awesome!
