Brightness / Contrast:

The “Brightness / Contrast” option according to me, is the most simple way to adjust the brightness of an image. All you have to do is click the “Colors” tab in the menu bar and select “Brightness / Contrast”. This shows the “Brightness / Contrast” dialog where we can adjust the brightness and contrast with the help of two sliders.
If you’ve made the corrections, you can save them by clicking the plus icon (1).
If you wish to have the same settings again for another photo, you only need to click the arrow pointing downwards button, and the preset that you added, from the list.

If you want these settings to expand very slowly, click the “Edit these settings as levels” button.
This opens the “Levels” dialog in which you can include your various levels for each channel.

Tip.
For each photo, it also depends on how badly a picture is taken, so that you can make something solid. Everything depends on the time you want to insert.

Hue / Saturation

With the “Hue / Saturation” option, which we also find under the menu item “Colors” we can change the Hue, Saturation and Brightness per color.
Select the color you want to customize, in the color wheel (a), which is “Red” in this case and change the box above “Saturation”. This will enable the red color in the image to be a little darker(1).
If we want a certain color change, then we click and drag the handle of the box to “Hue” (2).

You have many possibilities with this option. They are far too many to mention.
The more time you spend on the this, the better you can work with it, and the result of the photo will be better.

Levels

Just click the “Colors” button in the menu bar and select “Levels” in the drop-down menu.

In the “Levels” panel we see three pipettes. With the first one you determine the black value in the photo. The second is the gray value in the photo, and the third one is the white value in the photo.

Select one of the color channels that is to be changed. Then, first the pipette, and then a black color appear in the image. Repeat the procedure with the other pipettes. Of course, when you select the dropper “Grey”, a gray color will appear in the image, and when you select the dropper “White” a white color appears in the image.
Repeat these steps for each channel.
If you prefer GIMP correcting them, you can drag the sliders.
Click OK when you are satisfied.
