Multiple chart types in one chart

When the values between different data sets are far apart, we can use different chart types for the different sets.

First select the series that you want to change the chart type for.
In the above example the “Visits”.

Click the downward pointing arrow in the “Chart Area” under the “Layout” tab from the “Chart Tools”.
And choose the range that you want to change the chart type for.
In this case, “Visits”.
Choose the “Design” tab from the “Chart Tools”.
And click the “Change Chart Type” button.
Choose a Line Chart for example, and click OK in the dialog.
Right click the data series Visits and select “Format Data Series” from the drop-down menu.
In the “Format Data Series” dialog box on the left, select “Series Options”.
And on the right select “Secondary Axis”.                 And click Close
 

Chart template

When you want to use a chart repeatedly, you can save it as a template.
To do this first select the chart.
Choose the “Design” tab from the “Chart Tools”.
Click the “Save as template” button.
This opens the “Save Chart Template” dialog.
Enter a name in the field “Filename”.
In the field “Save As type”, the extension is already filled in for a template (.crtx).
Click the “Save” button.
If you want to use this template later, first select the range for the chart.
Click the “Insert” tab at the top of the “Ribbon”.
Click one of the chart types.
Choose “All chart types” at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
In the “Change Chart type” dialog, click on the left of the “Template” folder.
On the right side, the dialog box appears with previously created chart templates.
When the mouse pointer moves over the template, it displays the template name.
Select the one you want, and click OK.

To modify a chart that is an already created with a chart template, select the chart, and click the “Change Chart Type” button.
In the dialog that appears, we find the Templates folder.
Click this and choose your chart on the right.
