Inserting a picture

To insert an image into Excel, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon’.
Select the cell where you want to insert the image.
Click the button “Picture”.

The “Insert Picture” dialog opens. Navigate to the photo you want to insert, and double click the photo.
This inserts the picture in the cell.
The “format” tab is opened in the “Picture Tools” section in the “Ribbon”.
There are numerous options here, but impossible to discuss them all now.

Inserting a Shape

To insert a shape in Excel, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon’.
Click the “Shapes” button.
This opens a drop-down menu listing the various shapes, divided into eight different groups.
At the top of the group we have the most “Recently used shapes”.
Choose a shape, click and drag the mouse pointer over the worksheet until you get the right size of the shape.
Again, the “format” tab is opened in the “Picture Tools” section in the “Ribbon”.
Here again, we have lot of options which are impossible to discuss.

Insertion of “Clip Arts”

To insert “Clip Art” in Excel, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon”.

Click the “Clip Art” button.

This opens the “Clip Arts” task pane.

In the first textbox, we can search on a particular keyword.

In the second box, we select the folder where Excel should search.

And in the third section we give the type of files you want to search.

At the bottom we find the link “Organize clips …”, where we can select, copy and paste the clips.

With “Clip Art on Office Online”, we can look at the Microsoft site for “Clip Arts”.

And finally we have the link “Tips for finding clips”, if you really need help finding anything.

Insert “WordArt”


“WordArt” allows us to insert a word or phrase in a graphics file.

To insert “WordArt” in Excel, choose the “Insert” tab in the “Ribbon”, and click the “WordArt” button.

When you click this button, WorlArt with different styles are shown.

 

Choose a style by clicking on it.
This shows a text box with the selected style in our worksheet.

Type your text.
Through the “Format” tab in the “Ribbon”, we can format “text”.
You can do real nice stuff here.
