Lesson 61: Repeat Rows and Page Breaks

61/83 Lessons

Repeat Row and column titles on each page

If we want to print a “PivotTable” we can have Row and Column title fields repeating on each page.

If you have opened it, close the preview.
Right-click on any cell in the “Pivot Table” and choose “PivotTable Options” from the drop-down menu.
In the “PivotTable Options”, choose the “Printing” tab.
Check “Set print titles”, and click Ok.

Open the preview by clicking the “Office” button and select “Print” – “Print Preview”.
In the preview window click the “Next page” button.

Note that the column and row headers are repeated at the top of each page.

Page breaks

When we have more than one row field, Excel automatically adds page breaks between the row fields.
Right click above the outer row field, in this case the city, and select “Field Settings” from the drop-down menu.
Choose the “Layout and Print” tab in the dialog box that appears.
In the “Print” section check the box for the text “Insert page break after each item.”

And click OK.
See the preview again.
All cities are now on their own page.
